ScoreSense Trial Review

Most of us are well versed and know the drill when it comes to the ‘free credit monitoring’ programs.

Normally, you can get your first scores for free and then if the service is on par with your expectations you can continue for a small monthly fee.

This is how I got started monitoring by reports and I tried at least 3 different programs including Credit Sesame, Identity Guard and LifeLock before I stuck with ScoreSense.

ScoreSense, starts out like the other programs with the free trial period. However, it didn’t long for me to realize that their program went well beyond the other all in one identity theft programs I had tried in the past.

Here is a breakdown of my experience (please note the program has evolved quite a bit since it originally started and more and more customers are sticking with the program after these changes).

What To Expect From Your Score Sense Trial

When I first signed up for their free trial, I got the welcome email, I realized they were talking all these “services” went well beyond the standard credit scores “program” I was used to from other programs.

The welcome email helped get me started and gave direct instructions on how to get the most out of their service.

Welcome to ScoreSense. Monitoring your credit is one of the smartest financial decisions that you can make. All of us at ScoreSense look forward to helping you reach your financial goals.

If you have not yet logged in to view your credit profile and scores, please complete the registration process to get started.

We encourage you to start enjoying the benefits of your free trial membership to ScoreSense which includes the following:

24/7 Access to Your Credit Information: You get convenient online access to your latest credit profile from all three credit bureaus, all in one secure place.

Credit Monitoring Alerts: We monitor your credit report daily and alert you of any changes  to your credit report and send you alerts when key changes are detected.

One Million Dollar Identity Theft Insurance: Insurance reimburses costs associated with handling the theft of your personal identification, including lost wages and legal defense fees, up to one million dollars.

This is the part that has apparently changed the most. Early on, customers had difficulty understanding how to cancel their free trial enrollment. However, since mid-2014, they changed the verbage with their introduction email in order to spell it out directly in their welcome email.

We look forward to serving you,
The ScoreSense Team

Of course you can continue with the traditional “free” monitoring services such as Credit Karma or Credit Sesame but consider that your information will be shared with 3rd party companies (Lending Tree!) to pitch you loans and other financial services.

So, if you take your credit reports seriously, we encourage consumers to make the commitment to professional credit monitoring program and consider the monthly fee as a traditional “insurance” policy much like you have on your home, car or even life.

Trust me, you don’t want to be on the wrong side of identity theft.

With that said, it truly makes “sense” and “cents” to use a professional program like ScoreSense in order to stay informed about changes as they happen in real time.
